World traveler and local painter Eileen Seitz has been a regular at the South Miami Art Festival for 12 years. “I was born in Manhattan in the concrete jungle. When I began
Traveling and experiencing the bright colors of the tropics while surfing in the Virgin Islands I decided to make Florida my home. I feel I am giving back to people the spirit of living through drawing and painting to remind them of a simple way of life. I am Blessed to be able to capture the harmonious beauty of the sunlit tropical colors that surround us
everywhere.” The Multi-dimensional appearing painting “Peacocks in Paradise” is exuberantly colored in bright pinks, yellows and blues with smiling Hibiscus throughout the landscape and two peacocks almost hiding behind the flowers
while the sea beckons in the background.
The Giclee (or fine art print, original is sold) of “Side by Side” is a simple wooden dock image from Camden, Maine with colorful canoes resting alongside each otherin a tranquil sapphire bay at sunset.
The 28th Annual South Miami Rotary Art Festival is open from 10am to 6pm February 25 and 26 on Sunset Drive between US1 and Red Road. In addition to hundreds of artists
from around the country exhibiting, there will be a children’s alley on SW 57 Court, a multinational food court, live music, not for profit association tabling, raffle tickets and
beer and soda sales to benefit Rotary’s charities.

Today was the First Day of the South Miami Art Festival. November 1, 2014. I was so excited to share my watercolors from southern Europe and south pacific and all the new watercolors I have been painting since I returned to America. The judges liked the new body of work that they AWARDED me 1ST PLACE for WATERCOLORS. I received a blue ribbon and a Nice CHECK for my commitment. It is my 27th award. I am so happy
Tomorrow is day two of the show.. what blessings will arrive tomorrow I welcome with an open heart and the beautiful cool winds are blowing..
It was 1972 and I left Manhattan on a journey of exploration. In Key West I walked into the Art Center, became a memeber immediately and began to show and sell my work.. I was given the 1st place award for my originality and unique style.
The Key West Art Center 301 Front Street opened its 1974-75 season with a reception for members and their friends this past Sunday, November 3 and introduced an extraordinary excellent Juried Show.
Under the Classification of Mixed Media winners were: First Place, “Paradisio” by Eileen Seitz
A beautifully executed painting with tonal values showing the abundant luxurious plant-life
found on this island of paradise – as many identify it, that most west of Keys, Key West.
It was 1965 and I entered a local street festival in Manhattan where I was born and raised.
I entered “Red Barn in the Snow” and one 1st place in the whole festival.
I was 13 years old that spring when I knew that my art was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
